Pauline Rose

Pauline Rose is managing director and principal consultant for Prose New Zealand.

Her private sector experience includes over 25 years in marketing and communications roles in New Zealand and Australia.  She has worked in large consultancies and held senior in-house roles with leading New Zealand corporates including AXA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rainbow Corporation, Russell McVeagh and Sky Network.   She has worked in professional services, media, financial services, health, telecommunications, property development, light and heavy engineering, vehicle marketing and politics.

She was the first New Zealander to win an international award for public relations (1985) and has also won a number of New Zealand awards.

Since moving to Northland she has been a member of the Northland Tourism Development Group; and a judge of the Northland Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for 12 years.  She has maintained her professional membership of the Public Relations Institute of NZ, for which she was Chair of the College of Fellows from 2010-12, and is now PRINZ's Immediate Past President.  

She spent nine years at department manager level at Whangarei District Council, which serves 80,000 people and is now the eighth largest local authority in New Zealand).  She ran a libraries department of 40+ people, established a mobile library service, project managed the design/build of an award-winning $8 million central library; raised $130,000 worth of community funding for, and implemented, an award-winning multi-cultural pou project; managed two Long Term Plans (LTCCPs); was Civil Defence Recovery Manager for Whangarei and Kaipara Districts after the 2007 floods; managed communications and publishing; ran public consultations; and worked with the political arm of Council.

In 2011 she re-established her consultancy Prose NZ in Northland, and now serves clients in professional services, health, manufacturing and IT. She is also Chief Operations Officer for Northland broadband and phone provider Uber Group Ltd.
